Well, we went to meet a new potential buddy for Gibson on Saturday. Kenai, a short-hair "standard" dapple, from the Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue. He was in a foster home in Ft. Collins. We had high hopes that they would get along, to no avail. This time, Gibson did not like him. Our first try was with Daisy, a female dapple. She tried kicking his butt three times so we called that adoption off as well. Good luck kids!
NOTE: If you are feeling generous, please donate to this organization. The selfless and warm-hearted volunteers shelter, foster and feed these animals for free. Our adoption person, Rena (and Theresa) drive all over Colorado saving these dogs from a miserable life hoping to find them happy, healthy new homes. Better yet, adopt a cute little dachsie. Thanks.

In other news, I scored a 165 bowling at Elitch Lanes on Friday night for Bias' Gutter Ball. This was my best game to date, as if i was actually keeping tabs. But I beat Christy, who actually prefers me winning, even with her competitive nature. I also beat Nancy Crimmins who owns her own ball and shoes, not to mention a bowling shirt! Michael and Sam also played. I only do well when I drink. I think it just relaxes me and I am able to concentrate. Whatever the reason, I kicked butt! The food was exceptional as well. We did $1 Jello shots and ate lots of mango/banana chutney, chix on a stick and bacon-wrapped scallops (obviously not your normal bowling alley fare).
Saturday night we babysat for Bloom. What a doll! Jeez! She is so close to walking, but the grandparents want her to wait til Friday, when they get to see her in Albuquerque.

I have also added two links to the BLOG sites on the right. Check out Je Mange la Ville. She is a fun writer who enjoys sharing her food experiences....and more!

Back from the MA
So I made it back safely from Beantown last night at about 11:37PM. There was a delay out of Boston due to thunderstorms over the Midwest, so, we were holed up for two hours, but they held the plane in Chicago and I was able to make my flight and we landed only 30 minutes late.
So to backtrack, Saturday after getting coffee, we met his sister and bro-in-law at the beach. We played there for about 4 hours. Their son was so cute. He is a clean freak, which won me over instantly. Played some frisbee and just basically sauted in the sun. After the beach we went back home so Marcus could mow the lawn. They have the most beautifully landscaped and positioned lawn. The house sits about on a hill and the yard winds around the left side down a hill to the back. There are flower gardens, lily patches, and a big wooden swingset complete with slide for Hugo. While he mowed, i took a nap. I think the humidity got to me but nothing major.
Saturday night was a huge hit! So we go down to the pier in Plymouth and there is this place overlooking the harbor. The wait was 45-an hour. But the upstairs deck was serving Lobster so we asked for this empty table on the edge overlooking everything, and to our surprise it was open. So, we ended up eating lobstahs and drinking beeahs for the next two hours. Next we decided to go hear some music up the street but we came across a Pub Crawl. They all had on these powder blue shirts specifically printed for this event. We asked if they were selling them and they said sure. I talked them down to $5 bucks a shirt so we each wore one. They wrote some funny sayings on them and we were on our way. We made it to three bars b/c at the last stop, Ming Dynasty, the drink was a Scorpion Bowl. I have no idea what was in it, just a LOT of alchol, with BITE! We met some interesting people, Julie, from Los Angeles who had just moved back here after getting a divorce. She is settling in soon to her families 40 acre estate, but until that is done, she is living on a boat. Apparently she has enough loot from the divorce and her show horse business that she is not going to work for 4 years. Here, she posed this question: "If you had four years to do something entirely different or exactly what you want, what would you do?" Interesting question that most of us could not answer. It sounds a bit generic, but it makes you think.
So we ended up going home at 11:30 and watched some TV. Marcus finally got me to cave and agree that the movie Old School is, in fact, hillarious. Ok, Ok, i retract my initial statement that I would never date anyone that liked that show.
Hmmm, Christy?
So a plethora of philisophical talks, good beer, endless coffee, inspiring company, new friends, and a few history lessons made this a summer trip I will never forget. Thanks MCM! I owe you.....now come visit!

Oh, the humidity!
Hello working stiffs! I am vacationing on the East Coast...in Boston and Plymouth. Yep, home of Plymouth Rock and the Pilgrims. I arrived on Thursday at 1:36pm just like Travelocity said I would. Easy flight. Got some good reading in but did not meet one interesting person. Sad. Wow, the humidity! I always forget about that. So my buddy Marcus met me at the airport where we took the new Silver line, which is a bus that takes you straight into South Station for $1.25. Easy jaunt into the city. First stop....Union Oyster House. My favorite tourist(y) spot. This is the bar/restaurant that Daniel Webster used to sip whiskey and eat 6 orders of 6 oysters (six on the half-shell for those of you who don't know the terminology for ordering shelled creatures). We ate two seafood platters and a downed a few big ice-cold sam adam mugs of beers! Then for the next few hours walked around the city, Newberry Street, Fanuel Hall, Boston Commons and Beacon Hill, stopped at Dunkin Donuts for a donut and coffee, and then met Marcus's lovely wife Alyssa and her friend Blake for dinner. Did I mention the humidity? After dinner we dropped Alyssa off at her friends house and the guys headed to Plymouth. First stop....British Beer House. Quaint brew pub appeal with frumpy waitresses with thick NE accents. Some guy next to us taps me on the shoulder and asks us how baseball is played. At first i thought he was "playing" us, b/c WHO doesn't know that? Well turns out he and his wife were from Sweden. We spent the next hour talking to them about the rules of america's pasttime, and among other things, where the best looking women in Europe are (for the single guys...Northern Sweden and Finland). Why he told us this, we have no idea, but we enjoyed his enthusiastic banter. We also heard why the Swedish hate Russian women and love Russian men, as well as, why he drinks "gay" drinks...Cape Cods...Vodka/Cranberry. It's because alcohol used to be so expensive in Sweden that they made their own moonshine and and to cover up the taste they mixed it with some blueberry/cranberry-esque berries.
Marcus and Alyssa have an awesome house in Plymouth. It is strikingly close in size to three of our houses...well, ok, four. 5 bedrooms, a beautiful acreage of well manicured hills, flowerbeds and trees, two-level deck and a walk-out basement that MCM plans to turn into a gym/storage room. Way to go! Oh and two cool cats.
FRIDAY:
So we got up early and went for a 2.5 mile run. I had had visions of whupping MCM's butt due to the drop in altitude, to no
avail. It must have been the humidity that interrupted my pace. Anyway, run was good, then went to Dunkin Donuts (how i miss that place ). Got a coffee and then beer and sandwiches for the fishing trip. At two, the rest of the guys showed up, Mike and Dave...cool guys that marcus used to work with. We drove to pick up Keith (MCM's bro in law, and headed to the Cape (Orleans) to board the Osprey fishing boat for 4 hours of fishing.
This was not ordinary charter boat fishing either. We actually had to do the work, which was awesome. Captain Don took us out 6 miles, and First Mate Bill did all the work. We took home 7 fish in all. Soon after the first cast, Mike snagged a 35 inch Sea Bass. Awesome! Everyone caught some fish, but Marcus snagged the best one...unless you count the cool quahog I pulled in. (see Big Clam). Marcus reeled in a 40in Bass, the biggest of the day, winning the days bet of $5/head of biggest fish. Way to go, buddy! See pics as soon as I download them.
SATURDAY:
Today we got up, went to DDs for bagels, got some sandwiches and met MCMs SIL and BIL and Hugo, their son, at the beach. Longs Beach. Incredible day. The sun was out, the breeze kept it cool and we were out on a privat sandy beach area only accessible by 4WD which everyone seems to have out here. We played frisbee and fly a kite. Now my feet are sunburned but owell. You can't get sun in your cubicle.
That's it for now. See you all later. Watch for pics soon! Dg signing off.

Anyone lose a car?
Well, this morning was like any other morning, with once exception. I woke up, opened up the door to get the Wall Street Journal, and put my shoes on to go for a walk. Usually, I look out, admire the green grass and calm nature. Except today, outside on the street was a stolen Chevy Camaro, white with blue flames. It was practically gutted. No front tires, the interior had been cleared of any electronics, the trunk was open and had just remnants of thumper speakers and power amps. There was a pile of crap, like boxes, window blinds, a few receipts and other random castaway items that seemed to be taken out of the thieve's car to accommodate the new found loot. I called the cops who arrived shortly after. They said that no one had reported their car stolen as of 6:15 am. Christy did some sleuthing of her own, predicting that the action happened before 3:00 am because the sprinklers had been on and the pile in our yard was wet. We just couldn't believe we didn't hear at least a crowbar or tire jack being used right in front of our house. The windows happened to be shut b/c we finally have the air on. Oh the excitement on Fillmore, how it continues....

A mere four updates
First: Thanks Sean. Sean came over today to help me with my blog design. Don't judge his work by the look of my site design, but by the structure and HTML. I will be working on it over the next few days before I head to Cape Cod to visit Marcus for a guys weekend of fishing, drinking, trash talk and lest i forget, tetherball! yeah!
Second: We got our first vegetable yeild today. Yep, a yellow squash showed itself today throught the great vines of foliage. Look at it's yellow brilliance, would you!
Third: We went to see War of the Worlds last night. Good show! The theatrics were amazing, and the special effects were suprisingly real-life like. If anyone out there has read the book, then you know how it ends, but even knowing the ending, the show was not TOO predictable. Check it out.

More of a neutral site...I guess.
This is a family oriented site, and from now on, I think I will only be posting montoned postings, to give those with political views a different place to sound off. Also, if you wish to comment on my site, I ask that you identify yourself, as it is the proper etiquette here. I do appreciate people taking the time to comment though. Thanks.

Bisexual? No, just gay!
(not that there is anything wrong with that)
Christy has argued in favor of this theory that a guy who says he is bisexual is really just gay, and actually kidding himself. But why does this not apply to women too? huh? I don't understand. Well, anyway, here is a supporting theory.

Fight for your Rights!
Fellow readers, this is not new news, but we need to start being activists for our rights, and WAKE UP or we will become the next old Russia and communist nation. I am talking about our freedoms. What happened to freedom of speech? What happened to confidentiality? Now you can't burn a flag, not that one would want to, but come on. We live with the "oh well, it's ok now, so who cares" theory, OR the "oh well, it's not happening to ME, so big deal." PLEASE don't think I have snapped, but our government is turning against us and is doing damage that will last for years to come after the bastard is gone. Our Court system is taking our liberties and freedom away. Molding and changing the laws to fit a specific case. This is factual given the latest case of the therapist in Colorado Springs that is going to jail because she is refusing to turn over her confidential records to the Military Judge regarding a rape case against her client and a cadet and the cases against reporters for not revealing their sources. Times Reporter gives in.
They are creating tax shelters for the rich, and supportive of getting rid of estate taxes, which currently affect only 18800 people leaving over 1.3 million. We'll end up with a bunch of idle rich , and idle poor if they get their way. I can site as many numbers and facts as you want, but it all boils down to the Government wants no responsibility, but total control over us.
The courts are siding with invasion of our privacies and we are being monitored now like never before. Cameras on the street corners. GOD, I SOUND SOOOOOOOOO COLLUSIVE RIGHT NOW. But it is really starting to scare me. What is it going to be like in 10 years? 15? Maybe I am over reacting but maybe not. The more people I talk to about this, all seem to beleive this is happening, especially when you see that Bush is filling these high-ranking positions Bush appoints John Snow who will end up protecting corrupt CEOs.
Ok, thanks for reading: Here is an outline with links of my rants. No Raves Today, sorry.
