I think he missed the memo about Talk Like A Pirate Day. So instead Gibson just acted out some Argh! moments.

The gooh boy is aging but still maintaining his stamina to hump Tica at will.

Help: Help Portrait

Thursday, December 3

Hello readers.
I am just the worst blogger lately and I apologize.
BUT if you happen to stop by here, I have a favor:

I am involved in a unique group movement called Help-Portrait

Their mission is simple: To Give Away Portraits To Those In Need.

We need your help in the form of AA Batteries and Socks ( Cotton or cotton/wool blend).

The Denver Help Portait Group will be gathering together on 12/12/2009 at the St. Francis Center, 2323 Curtis Street.

St. Francis Center is a center for the homeless.
This center has services for 500-700 homeless individuals, both men and women that they provide daily.

On December 12, setting up at 9am and planning to be on site until 6pm the Denver Group will be on site to offer hair/make-up and portraiture, we will provide a finished 4X6 image to anyone who presents that day and wants their image captured. Final details are still being made. As a good will gesture, we will also be bringing men's socks to the center as the Executive Director has indicated as one of their largest needs. We met on Tuesday 12/1 and I will be posting that data as well as sending out to the core group the notes of the day. I am actually out of my office until this evening and will be returning to Denver tonight and could forward more detailed information at that time. All of this is being provided by those volunteers to the Denver Group and any donated goods and items by outside companies willing to help.

Please send me an email or comment here and let me know, by Tuesday, Dec. 8th if you can help.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE and HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

The Magic Mouse: fail...so far

Tuesday, November 10

I was so excited to get the new Apple Magic Mouse. Upon first use, the tracking would not work on my mouse pad and my hand began cramping due to the flatness of the device. So I began using my old mighty mouse at home and took the MM into work. This lovely ugly black smudge marks the brand new Magic Mouse is leaving on my fancy herman miller work desk.
also, the bottom of the mouse, just above the apple logo is wearing a "blister-like" mark.

The black smudge marks are like soot and getting all over my hands as well as my keyboard.
i am not using a mouse pad, as when when i did, the tracking sucked. this is on a hard, smooth surface.

You can't cover Halloween yet, Mister Winter!

Thursday, October 29

I loved that the Treats sign STILL has not been completely covered. I have watched the snow inch closer and closer to the top but even today after another 8 inches, she still is holding her own. This jacket, however may be Hadley's only costume if it doesn't warm up by Saturday.

Second Snow

Wednesday, October 21

It's the second ( minor ) snow of the season and when we got home from daycare today Hadley wanted to go outside and play. But, like Tica, our female 7-year old dachshund does anytime it is cold out, she STOPPED and said " wet!" So we went inside and ate snacks.

Sailor Mustache Man

Welp, I finally shaved the beard down to a mustache/goat, for the marathon relay. Our team, the Wooly Willies, all wore 'staches.
Race went well. We finished at 3:36:14. My time was 1:06.

Next year, the Rock N Roll Denver marathon. A band a mile. Who needs an iPod for that race?

FYI: The stache is gone now and I'm back to the standard ol' baby face. But my FIL has me thinking now about his comment : http://www.davegannon.com/2009/10/growth.html#c2409196993400669791

Growth

Tuesday, October 13

For the Denver Marathon relay, my team is growning mustaches. Well, kinda. I don't look good in a mustache...i mean, who does? maybe Dad's and some grandparents but they are not in fashion anymore and probably never will be again...except for Dad's and grandpas. SO, we all decided to grow beards instead and then possibly shave the day before the race. The Wooly Willies will be hairy at to say the least. I am doing the 7 mile last leg of the race. Which means I need to step it up for this weekend's race.

Welcome 2009 Honda Civic LX

Monday, June 15

At first, about a week ago, when we decided that we need to get another car, I thought, WOW that was SO easy! I did some research online with the different dealerships in the area, talked to a few salesman, did a little haggling and wah-la! new car. BUT NO! That is not how the story ended.

It turns out that if you want a Honda with 5 Speed Manual, you have to BEG and PLEAD and CALL BACK and CALL BACK. Then you have to wait a few more days. THEN you have bail on those dealerships and CALL TWO MORE.

That is what it took to get this car.

Christy had wanted the dark grey (Polished Metal). She said "This is my first NEW car, so I was hoping to get the exact one I wanted." After I thought about it - since we were going to go with our second color choice - because the first two guys we talked to could NEVER EVER seem to get the car they said they could - black - I thought, YES, YOU ARE RIGHT, we ARE going to get you the color you want.

So I called two other dealerships which I should have done in the first place, and FOUND THE CAR. They even matched my price from the previous dealership. Not only did we find the exact car, we found the best dealership and salesguy ever. Scott B from Mile High Honda.

He was no pressure, no smack. He had what he said he had. He delivered when he said he would deliver. As it turns out, this WAS the easiest car purchase I have ever had. It helps when you have OUTSTANDING CREDIT ( thanks wifey) and have already decided on the price + tax before you get there at 8:45am.

If you are in the market for new or used Honda or Acura, I highly recommend calling Scott Barr at Mile High Honda.

Oh and here is a pic from last week's rain.
