Kill Ex, Hide on Crane, Get Life!

I promise this is the last "real life" post. Do we need this on a beautiful Friday? Poor woman. Hmm, let's see. "Hi, my name is Carl. First I will date this innocent woman, then I will go into bankruptcy and then get a DUI. Then I will dump ex girlfriend in a pond after bludgeoning her to death. Then, I will hide out on a crane in Atlanta and seem confused about my future and draw as much attention to myself as possible. I'm bright." Puke.

Some Pics from Current Events

Here are some pictures of moments in the past few weeks.
First: Big Weed Bush Removal
This took 4 hours of back-breaking, literally, effort.

Second: Pretty Flowers (Pansies) in Front Flowerbeds

Third: Sacked-Out Dog

Fourth: Christy Doing Dave's Dirty Work. Actually, I miss this SO much and can't wait to get back behind the mower. Doctor's orders for two more weeks. Thanks lovee. ( don't kill me, but it's cute)

My Old bandmate Dan's new band

Check these guys out! I used to play with Dan in Peace Freak back in good ol' Yankton. He was always a good songwriter. His melody reminds me alot of Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters). This new album really exceeds my expectations of him. Go DAB!

Perspective

So, today was my first appointment with Physical Therapy.
As i was walking to the docs office, i realized that i get the same feeling every time i go to the doctor... a sense of calm and comfort, almost serenity enlightenment. Why? i think it is because you are going somewhere that may bring an end to your ailment or at least put a finger on what is wrong. The sun seems brighter, the day seems happier, the air is warmer, and my mood always, always goes up. Anyway, i like going to the doctor, i guess. So today, I met with Scott. He was a nice guy. had an earring and seemed physically fit, so that is always a good sign, if you are a PT. he showed me some stretches, strengthening exercises and then he brought out the ultrasound machine. i guess it penetrates into the muscle and heats up and loosens the tense areas. I should be able to tell a difference later today or tomorrow. no mowing or even raking for two weeks. ouch! BUT good news is that i am on the mend and again today feel 85% better than Sunday. Thanks for reading. bye for now. I will be posting some pics of the Pansies christy planted on sunday, and also pre-patio pics. Bye for now.

On The Mend

well, i awoke this morning to a much better back. I almost feel like a new person. probably more like a 70% person cuz it still is a bit painful to walk a lot, but i have a new lease on life. Funny how what seems like a minute thing can cause such pain and frustration in your life....and to your loved ones, and your coworkers. I go to the Physical Therapist tomorrow morning so hopefully i will gain some instructions and knowledge re: excersise and strengthening for the lower back. My wish list for this week: Do it, mow, and possibly some yard work. We are gearing up for our big BBQ Keggar so we have to get our new patio in soon.

Yardwork....what a backache!

SO, yeah, this weekend started off well. FIrst, our friend April had an art opening at this coffee house in Bonnie Brae so we thought we'd meet some friends for dinner first. Had drinks, dinner, and good conversation. Go to the photography show....way to go April!!!. The night ended rather well. Next morning, got up, and the tiller guy shows up to till the "back 40". he does, looks swell. Then Christy says, we need to get rid of the alien bush. So we start digging and digging and i even pulled down some fence and tied some rope around the trunk, hooked it up to the truck and tried pulling it out, to no ado. smoking rubber belts, anyway,to no avail. so we just kept digging and hacking into the roots with a borrowed axe thingy from Amy and Forrest. FIINNNALY after 4 hours, the alien came out!....so then, off to the garden store to get bricks and plants and seed for the new patio and yard. I was leaning over to put two octagon bricks into the bed of my pickup when BAM!!!!! i see stars and hear my lower back muscles just RIP!!! I almost passed out from the pain. So christy had to jump in the truck and drive me home where i just laid on the couch and bed. I am feeling so mad at myself! One, for being so humanly stupid and two, i have to watch christy do the raking and lawn stuff. She even had to put my socks on for me. I had to go into work for 1/2 day today to send some stuff to the printer, but the then came home. Sorry so long.

The Best Son Ever?

Boy, it's amazing what a wood chip ball and an old Nantucket T-shirt for Mother's Day will do for your ego.

"Through tears of happiness I am writing the most wonderful son in the universe...I simply love the Nantucket T and the ball is beautiful. You are soooooo thoughtful (wish I had your knack of picking the right thing(s)). I am still enjoying all (underlined) the thoughtful gifts you gave me for Christmas. Dear, sweet, David...your mom loves you. Your Mom's Day "card" was beautifully written (and not deserved, but happily received). Miss you so much. Thank you for being you. Thanks also for sending your business card(s). Did you know dad and I are so proud of you. I hope you do.
— Love Mom"

Small steps to becoming (un) broken.

Well, Christy picked up her ( well, my) guitar last night for the first time in.....months! She played through two songs which sounded amazing. No pressure, but people with ears would be better off if she keeps up the repair!
