[ Happy New Year!]
:: Happy New Year everyone! :: What
a bang into the new year!
What did everyone do? Let me know, I would love to hear your stories!
We went out to Opal
for dinner. By far the WORST service i have ever received at a upper class
restaurant, worst even for a small dive too. But the food pulled the rating
from a D- to a B+ though. However, I am not sure I would recommend it
due to the poor unorganized service. We were pretty pooped from the night
before so decided to come home and relax. I rang in the new year alone,
which I did not find very bubbly! Oh well, Motley
Crue was on Leno making their comeback tour first hurrah! Vince Neil,
you need to go on Weight Watchers...but then again, so do I. Best wishes
in the Oh Five!!

401K and vacation ( most of which i have already used ). I hope you all
have fun plans for New Years Eve. Drive and party safely!

[ 2 Days AFTER Christmas ]
:: MERRY CHRISMUKKAH!! (OC)
I was hoping to get online in Indiana but the wireless was not available,
so I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Channukah and I hope
your travels landed you safe to your destinations and back.
Did Santa stop by your house? Please feel free to write
and tell me what you all got for goodies under the tree? I would love
to hear. We had an easy 19 hour drive. Stayed in Hays, KS the first night,
(5.5 hours) then got an early start and made it to Muncie just as the
snow was falling, at 8:30 PM ( 13.5 hours). There was a Starbucks in KS,
who knew! I am glad we did most of Kansas at night or early morning. Did
you k now that the sun doesn't rise until after 7:20 in KS? jeez! It was
a WHITE Christmas in good ole' Muncie. It snowed all night Wednesday and
we awoke to a winter wonderland of about 7 inches of snow. The snow blanketed
the area and even worse south of us.
Oh what fun it was to wake up, and shovel, honestly,
the driveway, to walk around in the snow, chase christy and gibson and
look out over the fields blanketed in white. Thank you Indiana and the
hospitable CA 'rents and aunt Apple Stuckey, for the thoughtful gifts
and conversations.
Happy New Year and Holiday wishes to everyone who reads
this!

[ 5 Days Til Christmas ]
:: Skipped a few days, sorry, but at least
there are only 5 days til Christmas! So,
my parents were out here for a week. It was fantastic visiting with them,
shopping, antique-ing with my dad, and have the entire family over for
an early Christmas. It was Bloom's first December slash Christmas so we
obviously overwhelmed her with gifts she has no idea she received. I used
my iSight camera to record most of the event which I will post at some
point. Leaving for IN after work tomorrow. 19 hours in the car....yippee!
Happy Holidays everyone! Talk soon.
Wednesday, December 15: 9:13am [ 10 Days Til Christmas ]
:: Happy Birthday, to me! Yeah, I am sort of touting it this year, as it is a good year, so far, and I have a lot to be thankful for. Christy got a room at Hotel Teatro, and tickets to the Christmas Spectacular Rockettes show. In a word...Spectacular! Thanks CA! It's Blossoms of Light then Avenue Grill tonight, Efrains tomorrow, and an early Christmas at our house on Friday. I LOVE the holidays.
Tuesday, December 14: 7:13am [ 11 Days Til Christmas ]
:: Successful Party / Countdown to 37. The party was a big hit. We still have lots of beer and wine, so if anyone wants to come over for a cocktail or glass of Yellow Tail, please feel free to rsvp. I think the highlight was when Gibson jumped up and took a big bite out of the pate. Hey, it was eye-level. My parents are en route to Colorado today and should arrive tonight. - Got up on Saturday morning at 7:15am and delivered 8 Baskets of Joy to needy Denverites. Then on Sunday, ran the Jingle Bell. Lots of bells and santa hats. Fun 5K!!!
::: PET ALERT::: Erin's dog, Baxter, ate 56 Ibuprofen, so please visualize a fast healthy recovery for him. He is doing better and is now on IV at the vet. Poor dude.
::: For you Weather Buffs! Weather for your desktop. I love this!
Friday, December 10: 7:08am
:: PARTY TIME! / CHARITY. We spent three hours last night decorating and baking cookies. Ok, i should give credit where credit is due. Christy did all the baking, I just did the massacre-ing. Funny how when you are a kid you can create works of art, and when 30 years pass, you make a santa that more resembles a melted pile of colored mush. Gibson was a little upset that he was not getting the attention he deserved. So, by accident, a gingerbread man's arm fell to the floor. Anyway, it was fun, even at 1:00am. My Chrismannuka wish to you is that peace is in your heart.
:: And then Tomorrow morning we are going to assemble holiday baskets for Baskets of Joy.
::Info If you feel that you would like to volunteer this holiday, or any time during the year, this is a good place to start. Volunteer Solutions, or Volunteers of America
Thursday, December 9: 7:11am
:: Rest in METAL Peace..Dimebag Darrel!
He was shot on stage.
:: Tree Trimming: Oh what fun it is to smell pine...all day!
We got our tree last night. a 6-7' Frasier Fir. MMMM, good! The stockings are hung with care, most ornaments are on the tree. It was interesting to note the difference b/w my ornament flavors and Christy's. Each one of her's has a special meaning which is so cute. Mine have been given to me at various times and tree trimmings so they do not have the same attachement however, are still very special. We spiced up some eggnog (soy for me) and toasted the tree in two ways! What a fun night!. I hope you all are getting into the spirit as well!
Monday, December 5: 7:21am
:: Still snot-nosed but recovered.
:: Holiday shopping/Friends/Family/Babysitting
Oh how the holiday shopping is upon us. Are you done? Have you even started? Well, my list is completely checked off except for two gifts for my Dad, that I know what to get just have not made it to the store. I love completing these tasks early so that i can focus on the fun stuff, like hanging lights, which we did some of the other day on the back patio. Big colorful round bulbs. I am anxiously awaiting my parents arrival for my birthday (Dec. 15th) and the big surprise CA has for me.
In other DG news, we babysat for Bloom for the first time on Saturday. What an amazing experience...and birth control! She was a doll but does much better when Mommy is around. The creation that makes you blush, and laugh with any expression or lower GI, will win over anyone's heart! I love her dearly.

:: Not Down with this sickness!
I have a cold and have HAD a cold since Thursday. Missed work yesterday,
then tried to go in today but the boss sent me home. CA has been sick
as well, but was ok yesterday and is again home today. Sheesh. More liquids,
Sudafed and donuts are needed!!! Gibson has been a good nurse tho.
Update to gunshots: Well we found

The Public speaks out: Letters

Thursday, November 25: 8:21pm
:: Happy
Thanksgiving This year and this
day, we have a lot to be thankful for, and one thing to say "what
the hell?"
A few days ago, Wednesday morning at 5:10am to
be exact, we were awakened by gunshots. 3 sets of pow, pow, powpowpowpow!!!
Thinking it was just some kids firing off a new found "toy",
i did not call the cops. So at 6:35pm we awoke again to the sound of someone
banging on our door, ringing the doorbell and yelling. Turns out it was
the cops. Cops who did not identify themselves, which is stupid. Turns
out that there were 7 cops with assault rifles casing the neighbor"hood",
our house and the house next door. Fox News showed up too. I am in my
boxerbriefs trying to keep Gibson in line, hiding behind the wall. The
cops asked Christy if she had anyone in the house, and she says "yes,
a man and a dog". they asked her twice, i am assuming to make sure
she was not there against her will and that she was not harboring a suspect.
Probably could have save a few questions had she mentioned that the guy
was her boyfriend..but hey, we were raised from deep slumber. Long story
longer, it turns out it was our neighbors to the south and the cops had
the house under watch, questioning them and not allowing any of their
other "family" to go into the house as they kept arriving. That
night, Christy found blood trailing from their door down to the street.
We still do not know what happened, but there is no crime scene yellow
tape or any sign of disturbance. The "family" was out there
today and the only thing we find different is that the dog is no longer
barking. Hmmm.
I am very thankful to have such loving parents,
a caring and fun sister/bro-in-law, a simply wonderful neice, and a hot
girlfriend....oh and a handsome/smart dog. I also give thanks to my boss
for lobbying for my FTE at work. Crossing fingers til Dec. 20.

Monday, November 15 : 7:26am
:: Grass Angels! Someone had a long fun friday and even a longer saturday.
In other news: Mokie is back! He/She just signed up for Manwich Day here at work. Mokie's story is quite unique. When I lived on Nantucket, Mokie used to come around begging for food. We thought she was hungry but it turns out that she was using the other businesses too. One day, I posted a signup sheet for a Book Club. Mokie signed up. Mokie liked getting involved and signed up on every sheet from then on out. Thanks Mokie for brightening our days.
